Alright alright, so the “once a week” rule didn’t turn out the way I wanted. So what? I’m a busy lady. I’m not that busy.

I’ve been procrastinating.

So if you read my last blog, you know I started my internship two (nearly three) weeks ago, now with only a week left. I will start off by saying: I have not done a single coffee run (other than for myself).

The first day of my internship was watching IT set up my computer, while reading beautiful design magazines and books (for anyone who doesn’t know Scott Christie’s personal library, it’s inspiring.) My second day began with mostly grunt work, which is to be expected on your first internship. It’s been the same since day two. A little more responsibility each day. I’m starting to get into the routine of an office setting. Overall; I’m enjoying myself, I’m enjoying the culture, I’m enjoying wine and cheese fridays.

In other areas of my life, my Toronto-based bestie, Madison, found a new apartment just a few blocks away! My not-so-evil plan to have all my friends move to the Beach is slowly coming to fruition. I’ve got everyone thinking about it. You should too. What’s not to love about the east side? Its cultured, there’s a GIANT beach (with dog park, yay swimmers!) Look at you, you’re thinking about it. Need I continue? I’ll stop for now.

Wedding! As per my last blog, ya’ll know I’m getting married next year.
No progress on that. Moving on.

Pre run derp face.

How was everyone’s long weekend? Almost everyone I know went to cabins and cottages, sat on beaches and browned in the sun. I recovered the chairs in my dining room, had a margarita at 11:30AM, took Zelda to previously mentioned Beach dog park and last but not least: started running at 6AM. I sprinted! WOOHOO. If you’ve ever seen me, I do not look like someone who can sprint.

In my last post, I talked about bootcamp and burlesque. Update: you need money for a gym membership, and money is something that Interns don’t have. Those things will have to wait. For now, running is free, and I enjoy it.

Is it the end of may, already? You know what that means?
June.
You know what June means?
Its my birth month.
Thats right, the month I was born. It may START on the 5th of June, but the party and the “but it’s my birthday” excuses go right to the end.
“What does this brat have planned?” You may ask… WELL. Karaoke. Thats right. Karaoke. It’s my grand performance! They cancelled Canadian Idol before I was old enough to audition. Still upset about it. It’s going to be amazing. I’ll tell you all about it.

Other than that, I start a Calligraphy course in June. Taught by none other than the too-talented Kevin King. Check out his typefaces here.

My new nibs, getting ready for some serious calligraphy!

Other things in June: Adam’s cousin’s wedding reception, his younger-sister’s engagement party and SOON (in the next week, soon) Adam’s best man, Jake and his lovely wife, Siobhan are having a baby! I’m sewing adorable things furiously. I’ll post them on my instagram (where I post everything.)

The green eggs (sans ham, I did make one though). A gift for Jake and Sio's baby shower.

Okay, back to work!

Ta-ta for now!

Amber
